MARCO MAISANO

 

In 1987 Marco Maisano founds the Complesso Polifonico Ghirlanda Musicale with which he carries out, over the years, an intense, international activity as a conductor, performing concerts and participating to prestigious festivals in Austria, France, Greece, Switzerland and Hungary. In more recent years he has led various choral groups (Complesso Vocale Suono Antico in Merate -Lecco; Corale di Ranica -Bergamo). His didactic activity includes teaching, in various educational institutions, courses of Musical Education and Musical Reading. He delivers every year course on Musical Listening for the TU (Third University) in Bergamo. Since a few years he carries out an activity of historical research, with a particular focus on musical events concerning the early twentieth century; on this subject he has published several works on the local musical history. Furthermore he has retraced and revised manuscript compositions from the 18th century.

His curriculum of musical studies includes, in chronological order:

Diploma in choral music and choir conducting under the guidance of M° Franco Monego at Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milano.

Further studies on musical analysis and composition with Renato Dionisi.

Specialistic studies with Prof. Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden at the treble voices of the Teatro alla Scala in Milano and at Tölzer Knabenchor in Munich.

Attendance of the courses on orchestral conducting of the Internationale Sommerkurse at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna, and the Master courses on Orchestral Conducting with the Symphonic Orchestra of Széged (Hungary).

Recently he attends the courses on Musical Conducting (in the Studium Generale class) held by Helmuth Rilling and Masaaki Suzuki at the Internationale Bachakademie in Stuttgart.
